Inspection involves physically looking at, measuring, or testing results to determine if they conform to the requirements or quality standards.
It’s a tool used to gather information and improve results. Inspections might occur after the final product is produced or at intervals during the development of the product to examine individual components.
Inspection may take actual measurements of components to determine if they meet requirements.
Inspection keeps errors in the product from reaching the customer whereas prevention keeps errors from occurring in the process.
